Iredell County Recreation Center

Iredell County Parks & Recreation Department is continuing to evaluate local, state, and national guidelines in regards to Covid-19 and the phased reopening plan issued by the State. Our main priority is, and will continue to be, the health and safety of our patrons and staff. 

The Iredell County Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the following changes in operations, based on the Governor’s Executive Order 163, effective September 4, 2020 at 5:00 pm.  

  • The Iredell County Recreation Center will open on September 8, 2020 with limited capacity and adjusted hours of operations.   Reservations for workout sessions will be required.  
    • Participants are required to wear masks when not exercising.  
    • Physical distancing of six feet required at all times.  
    • Daily attestation forms required.  Download below, copies are available at the Recreation Center.  
    • Participants will be screened each time they arrive to the Center via questionnaire and touch-less temperature check .
    • Staff will disinfect equipment and commonly touched areas between time-slots.    
  • Updated Recreation Center Hours
    • Mondays-Thursdays - 6am-7pm
    • Fridays - 6am-6pm
    • Saturdays – 8am-12pm
    • Sundays CLOSED
  • Fitness Center 
    • Max of 3 days per week per person - Changes to 5 days per week on 9/21/2020 
    • Participants must sign-up to be to exercise - limited to 19 people– reservation basis.  
      • May sign up 7 days in advance
      • Call 704-878-3103 to reserve spaces
    • Participants required to wipe down equipment prior and after use
      • Will be given disinfectant bottles and instructions at the front desk; paper towels in the Fitness Center room
      • Bottles will be sanitized between shifts
  • Group Exercise

    • Classes limited to 24 participants on a reservation basis.  
    • Max of 3 days per week per person - Changes to 5 days per week on 9/21/2020
    • Mats not provided
    • Participants must sign-up to exercise
      • May sign up 7 days in advance

  • Gymnasium/Track
    • Open gym time will not be offered.
    • Individual households may reserve one side of the court during specific hours.  
      • Families will bring their own ball.  
    • Track is open on a reservation to two people during specific times.  Call 704-878-3103 to reserve a space.  
  • Pickleball 
    • Players will need to bring their own balls and paddles
    • Reservation sign-ups broken down into hours with gaps in between for sanitizing
      • Sessions limited to 20 participants on a reservation basis.  
        • Participants must sign-up to be allowed to play.
          • May sign up 7 days in advance

  • Child Watch
    • Closed until further notice

Fitness Center

State-of-the art equipment, including free weights, assisted weights, cardio, spin bikes, etc. Personal trainers available for guided workouts. 

Group Exercise Classes

Offerings include: yoga, senior, cycle, high intensity, and more. The schedule will adjust to meet the needs of the community and the changes in field.  Group exercise classes are included with a monthly or annual membership. Drop-in/daily rate is $5.


Enjoy basketball & pickleball, walk the track or join one of our Group Exercise Classes. Drop-in/daily rate is $5 per person.
